Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a high quality, safe, nurturing and engaging early childhood program for preschool children while supporting each unique family unit. We strive to allow each child to develop at his or her own rate with the goal of a successful transition into kindergarten and beyond. We are committed to delivering the highest quality early education, preschool and infant age care available in our area.

Our Vision

Our vision at Teremok is to allow children to fully experience childhood, and be treated with respect as unique individuals. Children learn and benefit through child directed play activities, and we strive to make learning FUN in a world that is trying to make our children grow up too quickly! Through developmentally appropriate activities, children will thrive in our program and be fully prepared to enter kindergarten upon graduating our preschool program.

We strive to make a difference… one child at a time!

Our Philosophy

It’s not “just daycare;” it’s the beginning of a lifetime of learning! We know that your choice of early childhood programs is one of the most important decisions you will make for your child. Therefore, we are committed to providing a warm, loving and rewarding experience for your family in a nurturing environment, because great beginnings last a lifetime!

.

.... and now you may read to your child a story which will support our philosophy and vision:

Teremok

In Russian, the word "teremok" means "little hideaway".

Teremok is the main setting in this Russian folk tale.

Once there was a small house in the woods.

One day, a mouse came by.

"Little house, little house! Who lives in this little house?" he called.

Nobody answered, so the mouse made a home there.

One day, a rabbit ran by.

“Little house, little house! Who lives in this little house?” he called.

“I am a mouse,” said the mouse.

“And I am a frog,” said the frog. “Who are you?”

“I am a rabbit,” said the rabbit. “May I come in?”

“Of course,” said the mouse and frog, and the three then lived together

One day, a bear walked by.

“Little house, little house! Who lives in this little house?” he called.

“I am a mouse,” said the mouse.

“I am a frog,” said the frog.

“I am a rabbit,” said the rabbit.

“I am a fox,” said the fox.

“I am a wolf,” said the wolf. “And who are you?”

“I am a bear!” roared the bear. “May I come in?”

One day, a frog hopped by.

"Little house, little house! Who lives in the little house?” he called.

"I am a mouse," the mouse answered. "Who are you?"

"I am a frog. May I come in?"

"Of course," said the mouse, and they then lived together.

One day a fox came by.

“Little house, little house! Who lives in this little house?” she called.

“I am a mouse,” said the mouse.

“I am a frog”, said the frog.

“I am a rabbit,” said the rabbit. “And who are you?”

“I am a fox. May I come in?”

“Of course,” the animals said, and the four then lived together.

But Teremok was too small for Bear, so he just sat on the roof. The house creaked and collapsed.

Mouse, Frog, Rabbit, Fox, Wolf and Bear began to build a new house, made it better and bigger than previous one to accommodate everyone and lived there happy ever after.
