Rotating Teachers

General Summary

The Rotating Teacher is responsible for all aspects of care for children enrolled in Little Treehouse Academy and upholding Little Treehouse Academy’s polices and philosophy. The Rotating teacher’s main responsibility will be to assist classroom Leads in daily activities such as diapering, potty training, meal times, rest times, learning stations, and specialized activities. Additionally the Rotating Teacher may be called in to sub for leads and must be able to read and follow curriculum and lesson plans left by the Lead Teacher. The Rotating Teacher should excel as a role model, motivating and supporting teachers in each suite.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • 1 year experience working with young children;

  • Excellent customer service skills in person and on the phone;

  • Comfortable with team-based work structure;

  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility on the job;

  • Strong written and verbal skills;

  • Initiative, conscientiousness, and comprehensive follow-through in areas of responsibility;

  • Excellent health and agility to perform job responsibilities of a teacher of young children; and

  • Ability to consistently model superior teaching and care-giving skills.

Physical Requirements

The Rotating Teacher must continually be able to:

  • Observe and respond to children's needs, emergencies and/or conflicts that might occur during the day (inside or outside environment);

  • Supervise children outside exposed to the sun and changing temperatures;

  • Lift 1-45 pounds from the floor to a waist high table;

  • Kneel down to maintain eye contact at child's level;

  • Sit on the floor to work with children;

  • React to a child that is 20 to 30 feet away within 30 seconds;

  • Carry a child (1 to 45 pounds), up to 50-100 feet;

  • Respond to children's first aid needs (inside or outside environment) which may include cuts, bruises, blood/bodily fluids;

  • Communicate clearly and calmly to children, parents, and co-workers;

  • Deal effectively with the stress involved in working closely with children, parents, and co-workers; and

  • Perform fine and medium hand manipulation.
